In the composting process, the odor of chicken manure has always been a difficult problem to deal with. Traditional fermentation is not only inefficient, but also causes secondary pollution to the environment. To solve this problem, our company has proposed a new composting fermentation method. Adding fermentation agents to chicken manure and using windrow composting can effectively improve composting efficiency and organic fertilizer quality. Next, I will introduce this chicken manure composting solution to you in detail.
Chicken Manure Composting Process
1. Choose chicken manure material
Choose fresh chicken manure and spread it on the cement floor or plastic film. If it is a long-term pile of chicken manure, it is recommended to add some fresh chicken manure, because the chicken manure will ferment naturally after being piled for a long time, but the decomposition is not complete, and this kind of old chicken manure is not easy to heat up.
2. Add ingredients such as a fermentation agent
Add fermentation agent: It is recommended that the high-temperature fermentation agent newly produced by our company be added for fermentation. This type of decomposition agent heats up quickly, ferments completely and thoroughly, and has less odor during the fermentation process. Generally, 500 grams of fermentation agent can ferment 1-2 tons of chicken manure.
Add straw: Sawdust, wheat, corn, straw, and other straw can be added to chicken manure, and the general length is 1-2 cm. If an organic fertilizer fermentation agent is used for fermentation, the proportion of straw added can be 10%-20%. The main purpose of adding straw is to make the material loose and breathable so that microorganisms can multiply in large numbers and fermentation can proceed better.
3. Add water in moderation: Chicken manure is generally dry. The moisture content of fermented chicken manure is required to be 55%. The criterion is that the chicken manure does not drip when picked up, but water marks can be seen between the fingers.
4. Stacking and fermentation in strips
Pile the mixed chicken manure into 1-2 meters (proper stacking in winter is conducive to temperature increase), with a width of 1.5-3 meters, and the length is determined according to the amount of material.
Key point 1: No need to cover!
In order to prevent water loss, air entry, and temperature increase.
Therefore, the composting location should be high, with smooth drainage to avoid rainwater soaking. Pay attention to rain protection in the rainy season, or cover it appropriately when it rains, and remove the film after the rain.
It can be covered appropriately in winter. The covering film is dark in color and has good heat absorption, which helps to keep warm. After the temperature rises, the covering needs to be removed.
Key point 2: Turn the pile!
After the chicken manure is heated, it can effectively kill bacteria, parasite eggs, grass seeds, etc. in the chicken manure. When the temperature in the chicken manure pile reaches 55 degrees, it needs to be turned over and then piled into the original strips.
After turning the chicken manure several times, when the internal temperature of the chicken manure does not reach 50 degrees, the fermentation is basically completed. At this time, the chicken manure can be covered and set aside.
