Granular material is fed continuously or in batches into a rotating drum. The drum's internal lifting mechanism gently picks up and dumps the granules, forming a uniform granule bed. Precision spray guns atomize the coating solution (such as polymer resin, sulfur, or syrup) and distribute it evenly over the tumbling granules. Heated air passes through the drum, rapidly drying the coating solution upon contact with each granule to form a strong, continuous film. The coated granules are then discharged for further cooling or packaging.
