Rotary Drum Granulator — Product Introduction

Rotary drum granulator is the key wet agglomeration granulating host for fertilizer production lines. It realizes continuous balling of powdered materials by means of rolling and coating inside an inclined rotary cylinder. Both cold granulation and steam hot granulation / ammoniation granulation processes are available. It is widely adopted for manufacturing NPK compound fertilizer, organic fertilizer, bio-organic fertilizer, humic acid fertilizer, soil conditioners and other granular products.

Working Principle

After uniform batching and mixing, fine powder raw materials are fed into the inclined granulating drum. Driven by motor and reducer through pinion and girth gear, the cylinder rotates at a stable speed. Under the combined action of gravity, centrifugal force and friction force, materials keep tumbling and circulating inside the drum. Meanwhile, the adjustable spraying system sprays water, steam, slurry, ammonia liquor or other binding mediums into the material bed. Fine powders take small nuclei as the core and keep coating layer by layer, just like snowballing, and gradually grow into round solid granules.
Granules move forward along the slope of the drum and discharge from the outlet end. Rubber or stainless steel anti-sticking lining is equipped inside the drum for automatic material shedding, which effectively prevents caking and sticking on the cylinder wall and reduces frequent shutdown cleaning. The finished semi-finished granules are then delivered to the subsequent drying, cooling, screening and coating sections. Undersize fine powder and oversize lumps screened out will be returned to the granulator for re-granulation in a closed circulation loop.
